"This book encourages us to go beyond the teacher-directed file folder approach to portfolios by making them a collaborative assessment between the student and the teacher. This book addresses the 'what,' 'why,' and 'how' of the portfolio process with grade appropriate examples, clearly defined information, ready-to-use blackline masters, and Internet resources.  A must-have tool for the elementary school teacher!"
