Great job, PHS Choirs!
What a great start to the year! Our first concert on Monday, October 26, was a great success! I was proud of the effort from all our groups and was pleased to introduce the sophomores to our Perry High School audience. Now we're preparing for both our Holiday Concert on Monday, December 14, the Symphonic Choir performance with the Canton Symphony on December 12
and our trip to Disney on December 16!
Whew--we're going to have a busy holiday season!
In September, I received official notification from Disney that our audition was approved and we will be performing in the Candlelight Processional at the American Pavilion at Epcot on December 19 at both 6:45 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. This is such an exciting performance! Approximately 300 singers, a 50-piece professional orchestra, professional Disney singers and all of the Disney magic combine for a beautiful concert and telling of the Christmas story. In addition, each concert features a celebrity narrator to retell the saga of the first Christmas and the narrator assigned to our concerts is...WHOOPI GOLDBERG!!! I can't even imagine what her performance will include--nor can I imagine she'll stay on script! Besides our performances at Epcot, the choirs will also visit the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Universal Islands of Adventure. An itinerary can be found on the Disney link at the left. Final payments are due to SuperHoliday Tours by November 30 and more information will be coming home with students including our Disney Handbook and some paperwork required by Disney for their performance. I'll also post everything I can under the Disney link on the left for you to download.
And don't forget the the music! All the Candlelight Processional tracks are available on this website and should be practiced extensively before our tour! Our success depends on your practice!! |
