Philippe Neveu is a musician specialized in woodwinds in particular the South French oboe (Hautbois Languedocien) but also contrabass and bass Sarrusophones, alto and sopranino Saxophones, and others.  Besides he sings, and he plays the French traditional drum “Tambour de joutes”. 

He appears in many different contexts, both as musician - traditional music, jazz, improvisational and experimental music, but also as an arranger, composer and artistic leader in connection with musical encounters, masterclasses and workshops. He has written an educational method for the oboe: “Méthode Pédagogique de Hautbois Languedocien” and he has received a diploma as state authorized music teacher “Diplôme d’Etat de Professeur de Musique”.  

Philippe Neveu has made several studio recordings, toured in most of Europe and participated in several jazz- and world music festivals , but also festivals for Street theatre, contemporary circus and modern dance.

1973 – 1983 Self-taught on piano, organ and guitar. Genres: Variety, rock, jazz and traditional Mediterranean music etc.   1984 Takes interest in the oboe from the region Languedoc. He makes a thorough research on the history of the instrument, participates in workshops concerning traditional music from Languedoc and studies the variety of playing techniques that are used when playing ethnic oboes around the world. 1990 Takes courses at the "Institut Musical de Formation Professionnelle".

The Languedocien oboes belongs to the great family of ethnic oboes in the world and accompanied by drum rolls and with its characteristic sound it has played the leading part in the musical tradition of South Languedoc. It has been the trademark of the region at least since the year 1666 when it was used in the inauguration of the city Sète under the reign of Louis XIV.
