Soundscapes

Technology has reached such a high point of sophistication that, in many fields, the line between amateur and professional has become blurred. Below are examples of audio soundscapes that would not have been possible outside of a professional studio twenty years ago. A soundscape is an audio image of a piece of literature, a passage set to music and sounds so as to entice the imagination of the listener. This was my first attempt at creating such a piece, and I found it to be quite addicting, as you can see below. In actually recording the pieces, it was fun, interesting, and an all around enjoyable learning experience. When it came time to find a way to get the files onto the this webpage, the trouble started. After several unsuccessful attempts to get around unreliable avenues, I stumbled upon www.drop.io, which is an excellent place to store files for free on the internet. The website should work well for students because it is fast, easy, and most importantly, free to use. Attached at the bottom of this page are the individual files of these soundscapes. Feel free to download them.
