Maple

Go back to homepage for Math 122L, fall 2014

Math 122L students will use the mathematical software package Maple in many labs and projects. It is much more sophisticated and easy to use than, for example, a graphing calculator. I hope students will enjoy it, and continue to use it after the course is over.

Getting Maple:

Duke students can purchase Maple at this link. The cost is $35.

Maple tutorial:

You can find a Maple tutorial at this link (thanks to Brian Fitzpatrick). The tutorial will walk you through some of Maple's important basic features that we will use this semester. Note that I strongly recommend that you work in Worksheet mode and change the input mode to Maple notation, as discussed in the tutorial.

Fall 2014 students should complete the tutorial by Friday, August 29 (preferably by Wednesday, August 27).

Maple will be your friend throughout the semester; the sooner you become familiar with it, the better.

Help with Maple:

You can always email me or the lab TA's with Maple questions, but before you do that, I ask that you consult the Maple help menu, the online Maple help page, or Google.
