Why do I write? Because I have to.
What has influenced me

I have been an avid reader and a history buff all my life. The events that have changed the world and the people who have influenced those happenings are things I find fascinating. I have read many history books and biographies of famous statesmen, soldiers and others who have been involved in the great changes that have made our world what it is today. I also like good historical fiction. I’ve read books by many excellent authors, but my favorite of all time is James Michener. I hope someday to approach that level of writing craft that will bring my readers the same pleasure I have gained from reading the stories of such authors.

What I write about

Ordinary people in exciting times and places.

Books I have written

THE AMBASSADOR
A young Spanish solder marries and inherits a hacienda in Mexico. The Ambassador is about his rise to power under the regime of Porfirio Diaz who appoints him as Mexico’s ambassador to the United States. He is influential in obtaining financing for Diaz’s plans to modernize Mexico.

THAT DAMNED IRISHMAN
After Sean’s father and uncle are killed by British soldiers, he and his family escape from Ireland to the United States where he takes a job on the docks. Moving into the liquor distribution business, he gains wealth which he uses to gain power and position in banking and finance.

MERC
Michael, when his parents are murdered and his inheritance stolen, flees attempts on his life and joins a band of mercenary soldiers. He fights in wars in Africa, the Middle East, and South America. With the help of friends in the military community, he learns the identities of his parent’s killers, and returns home to confront them.

THE SACRED LANDS
The saga of a Yaqui Indian family as their progeny live through the Toltec and Aztec empires and the coming of the Spanish and Mexicans. Undefeated until the coming of Diaz, they never surrendered although thousands were captured and sent into slavery in the mind and plantations of the Yucatan, others fled into the rugged mountains of Mexico or emigrated to the south-western United States.
Note: This novel is still in outline.

THE PERFECT WORLD
This speculative fiction story depicts a frightening future. In the year 2275, Earth is ruled by five corporations. Members of an underground organization struggle to achieve a free society.
