He is influential in obtaining financing for Diaz’s plans to modernize Mexico.

The saga of a Yaqui Indian family as their progeny live through the Toltec and
Aztec empires and the coming of the Spanish and Mexicans. Undefeated until the
coming of Diaz, they never surrendered although thousands were captured and
sent into slavery in the mines and plantations of the Yucatan,
others fled into the rugged mountains of Mexico
or emigrated to the south-western United States.
