what is public health?

Public health is the science and art of protecting and improving the health of communities through education, promotion of healthy lifestyles, and research for disease and injury prevention.

The impact of public health is everywhere. The world has seen an increase in life expectancy, a world wide reduction in infant and child mortality, and the elimination or reduction of many communicable diseases.

By improving the health and well-being of people in local communities, public health advocates work towards improving health across our world.

who are we?

The Public Health Association is an organization and community service club committed to serving students as they pursue their passions in public health and serving the local community.

how do i get involved?

Attend the meetings! Spring 2008 meetings will be held every even week on Wednesday, 5:30-6:30pm at Social Science Laboratory 140. Bookmark the Club Events page to stay updated with current events.
