PACE Gay and Lesbian Film Festival
11-17 September 2009 -- The 11 September 2009 7:45 PM opening night movie Sordid Lives has now sold out at the Robinson Film Center. It is possible that some tickets reserved by sponsors and tickets purchased through pre-sales may be released on 11 September 2009. Any tickets reserved by sponsors and PACE members that are not picked up by 7:15 PM Friday night 11 September 2009 will be released for sale to the public and will be available for purchase at the Robinson Film Center box office from 7:15 - 7:45 PM, 30 minutes prior to the showing of Sordid Lives. Even if you do not have a ticket for Sordid Lives, remember that our special guest Leslie Jordan will be at the Opening Night Reception from 6 - 7:30 PM and will perform a segment from his stand-up act. In addition, the Robinson Film Center's Friday Night Freak-Out will feature Hedwig and the Angry Inch at 10:15 PM opening night. During the showing of Sordid Lives, the Robinson Film Center will also be showing another film Adam in their smaller theater (not part of our film festival). The Internet Movie Database says that Adam features a tricky relationship that "exemplifies something universal: truly reaching another person means bravely stretching into uncomfortable territory and the resulting shake-up can be liberating." And there's always the Robinson Film Center bistro and balcony where you can have a delicious meal or mix and mingle with friends over drinks. So even if you can't get in to see Sordid Lives, there's still plenty to do opening night! Other festival films showing Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 12 and 13, and then repeating Monday through Thursday, Sept. 14-17 are: Drool, Were the World Mine, Chris & Don: A Love Story, Beautiful Boxer, and I Can't Think Straight. Movie patrons will be able to mix and mingle between films in the Go-Go Room on the 2nd floor of the Robinson Film Center. PFLAG Meeting Info 21 March 2009 -- 10:00 AM - Dr. Michelle Wolkomir (Centenary College Professor of Sociology and author of Be Not Deceived: The Sacred and Sexual Struggles of Gay and Ex-gay Christian Men) will be speaking.
