Please send money each week for your child’s lunch and ice cream account.

100th Day Celebration

Dear Parents,

 

As part of our math program, we are going the celebrate 100 days of schools.  This should be on January 31, unless the weather causes us to miss school before that date.  Please send 100 small items of the same thing to school in a zip-lock bag on or before  January 30.  Some ideas are :   paper clips, pennies, buttons, beans, etc.

These items will be returned.  Thanks for your help!

 Snow - Homework Test Policy

If scools are closed due to inclement weather, students should have homework assignments ready to turn in the next day.  If a test is assigned ahead of time, such as a spelling test, it will be given on the scheduled day.  Thank you for your cooperati

 
                                                                        

First Grade Syllabus 

First grade is a time for investigating the world and recognizing our abilities.  Our focus is on reading, creative writing, and mathematics.  We are committed to helping our students become independent lifelong learners.
 
We feel communication between home and school is a vital part of the learning process.  Communication opportunities include Back to School Night, weekly newsletters, report cards, parent/teacher conferences, portfolios, student conferences, teacher observations and journal writing.
 
We have several special theme days in first grade.  These include Author Studies, Bargain Bazaar, Barnyard Day, Beach Day, Bubble Day, Earth Day Celebration, Field Day, Holiday Customs Around the World, Mother's Day Tea, One Hundred Day Celebration, Pet Day and Thanksgiving Feast.
