 Attempts to create a special commemorative stamp for the approaching 150th birthday of the U.S. petroleum industry have been rejected, perhaps because of negative public perceptions. Pauline Schultz has spent most of her 92 years keep-ing the history of Salt Creek Oilfield in Midwest, Wyo. On Nov. 15, President Bush presented her with a National Humanities Medal during an award ceremony at the White House.  Page 4
