After appointments in the Brabants Orchestra and the Residentie Orchestra (a.o. for piccolo) he became in 1960 first flutist of the Dutch Radio Orchestra. In this period he studied for some month with the French flutist André Jaunet in Zurich. In 1965 Peter van Munster won the first prize in the Competition for the EMS - Culture Prize in Scheveningen. Next to his work in the orchestra he performed often as a soloist and a chamber musician in The Netherlands and abroad.
