Ron's Digs is a 4000 foot ashphalt airstrip on a small island near Rodos and the appropriately named Paradiso airport in the Greek Islands.

It is a fictitous airport designed for Ron Blehm, Founder of Flight Club International and replaces an FS2004 version also in the Greek Islands. The island has a hotel, fishing village, numerous Aegean houses for guests, yachts,vehicoles etc. etc. Take the time to explore the island!

This scenery was created for a series in PC Pilot magazine on basic scenery creation in FSX. You can read the series beginning with Issue 55 in June 2008.

In FS2004, I created a scenery package of the same name to honour Tony Radmilovich - a fellow PC Pilot contributor and friend. When I attempted to upgrade it to FSX, I discovered that I had built it right on a hill top which didn't appear in FS2004. So I decided to move "Tony's Ranch" to a nearby lake and explore the features FSX has to offer while rebuilding.

The FSX 'Ranch' is a 4900 foot airstrip in the mountains of Oregon, USA - 265°/26nm from Bend (S07) or 205°/28nm from Deschutes/Redmond (DSD) VOR (117.60). It is at an elevation of 4790 feet and has some basic hangars and facilities including a VOR (115.60 MHz, KTR). The real fun behind this mountain retreat is the lake environs. The lake is surrounded by various types of accommodation and sporting activities for you to enjoy. Take a small seaplane, boat or helicopter to fully explore what's on offer!

Founding Member Bill Smith celebrated his 50th birthday on  8th October 2007 & to celebrate half a century I have designed a small country retreat for Bill & his friends in York, Western Australia.

It is a 2900 foot grass runway with minimal facilities but a very welcoming Guest Cottage & fireworks on Bill's birthday.

The Flight Club Founder, Ron Blehm, has been hassling me for his own airport scenery. So I have named this island airport "Ron's Digs".

Ron's Digs is a 4600 foot airport in the Greek Islands. It has a separate cabin, hangar, yacht etc. for Ron & his family on the south west corner of the island - as well as numerous other cabins & facilities for other Flight Club members & guests. It comes with Tower & Ground ATC facilities, NDB & VOR navaids & an ILS on runways 09 & 27.

This scenery file was written after Computer Pilot magazine commissioned me to write a basic tutorial on writing scenery files for FS2004. What better way to do this than by assembling bush airfield scenery for Club members in the hills of Oregon.

It is named after our Weblackey, Tony Radmilovich, for all his hard work over they years Flight Club has been operating.

Tony's Ranch is a 3000 foot grass airstrip at 5008 feet elevation (watch those mixture controls!). It is surrounded by log cabins for members to stay, hangars, fuel & 2 lakes for amphibians & float planes as well as piers to tie up on. It comes with radio (Traffic) facilities & NDB & VOR navaids - but no ILS - you're an ace - you can handle it! All files & textures, AFCAD etc. included.

You can also download the Boat AI package which will place AI boats in the lake!
