Description
A superb example of this master craftman's ouput, with a wonderful dark rich pernambuco stick of exceptional qualities. When you play on this bow you can readily understand why Lamy was Kreisler's choice when it came to bows. This bow was sourced from the middle of rural France and was extensively used by its previous owner, again very understandable when you try this bow.
Playing Characteristics
I cant help feeling a bit smug about this wonderful bow! It is so good I am left somewhat speechless. The balance is superb and Joseph has got the weight along the stick spot on. It has very good crisp articulation and has a slight turbo charged feeling to it just urging you to have fun and enjoy playing. At the same time it helps you play and perhaps because of the sum of all its qualities it makes you appear a better player than you are! I highly rate this bow - a chamber orchestra players dream come true!
Condition
This bow has seen a great deal of playing and has had a very long playing career. It has some minor damage to the top of the head and also has a small repair near the button, the handle is warn and is covered to protect it for future violinists. All in all though having said that the stick is in beautiful condition. Without these small areas of damage this bow in todays market would be very expensive.
