Description
This extremely elegant bow is truly a delight to behold. Made circa 1940 it is in the most wonderful condition. His choice of pernambuco is first class and is very similar to both Sartory and his brother-in-law Emile Auguste Ouchard. It is not unreasonable to suggest that all three of them shared the same stock of wood. I really admire the concept of his model at this time, the bow is in excess of 73cm and care has to be taken when puttingit in a case since it is 6 to 8mm longer than the average bow. As you study the stick you see that throughout its length Lotte is trying to create a truly first class bow for a top class player. It is my belief that this maker is underrated and as such represents tremendous value for money. His bows of this period can be expected to appreciate quite markedly over the next few years.
Playing Characteristics
Simply gorgeous! Despite the extra length you feel the bow is perfectly balanced and very agile - a bow for a recitalist since musical nuance is so enjoyable with such a stick. It is interesting to note that when violinists play on this bow their bow arm gives the impression of great ease and elegance.
Condition
This delightful bow is in mint condition.
