My interest in violins and bows dates back to my teenage years when I studied the classic French bows and violin making with Arthur Bentley on the Wirral.  I sold my first bow (I renovated it myself) at the age of 14 and have been dealing in bows ever since!

 

My career as a professional violinist has put me in the unique position of being able to advise clients on the playing potential of an instrument or bow, as well as its historical context and value.  Knowing many colleagues in the profession gives me an insight into their tastes and requirements, and I never have less than 4 bows in my case when I travel to a gig! 

 

 

 

I am happy to chat about bows for hours (as my wife will testify!) and you are welcome to visit me in Welwyn Garden City (25 minutes from Kings Cross central London) at any time to try out bows, or simply for an informal chat about what you are looking for.
