Hello and welcome back to what is sure to be an exciting year for instrumental music at Perryville Middle School! Some changes have been made to the school schedule, as well as my schedule, that should positively impact the instrumental music program at Perryville Middle School. 1) Band will be a regularly scheduled class occurring during the intervention block four days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday). This means that the students will be scheduled to be in band at those times and attendance issues will be a thing of the past. 2) Lessons will be scheduled solely during the Fine Arts/Phys. Ed. classes. Students will have the same lesson time every week, alternating between their fine arts class and physical education classes due to the rotating school schedule. It is my intention that this will help eliminate academic concerns that can sometimes arise from missing class time for lessons. * Lessons will begin on Tuesday, September 8. Anything I give to your student to take home can be found at the bottom of this page as an attachment, including the schedule of lessons, grading policy, policies and procedures, as well as an acknowledgment form that will need to be completed and returned to me. Please let me know if you would like to be part of the PVMS distribution list. I will be e-mailing all permission slips and important information directly to you to make sure that you actually receive anything I hand out. **The lesson schedule I gave to students yesterday (Tuesday, Sept. 1) has already slightly changed due to a conflict with one of my elementary schools. The new schedule, only affecting several 7th and 8th grade students is attached below. All information, forms, permission slips, and schedules will be able to be found on this page as my schedule(s) become solidified between my three schools. I will also be posting weekly lesson assignments so that students will be able to find out what they are to be practicing.
