League and cup news 2011- 2012
21st January - Sasra held the might of Windermere last weekend and hold Penrith to a 2-2 draw in their latest game.
14th January - Penrith B and Penrith C draw 2-2 in another good performance by the lower ranked team.
5th December - Deck the chess sets with holly and bring on the lights and laser displays. Christmas truly comes early to Carlisle with Penrith B losing to Carlisle C 2.5-1.5 and Penrith C going down to Carlisle D 3-1. Ah well... 'tis better to give than to receive.
26th November - Penrith A continue their winning ways against Carlisle A, keeping their nose in front 2.5-1.5.
20th November - Penrith C crumble at home to Carlisle C going down by 0.5 to 3.5.
19th November - Penrith B and Carlisle D battle each other to a standing draw at two points a piece in Division 2 North.
30th October - If it's the last weekend in October then it must be time for something fairly frightening... yes, the Whitaker Cup. Penrith's two teams faced the might of Carlisle and Cockermouth. Penrith's Whitaker 1 beat Carlisle 3-1 whilst our Whitaker 2 team beat a strong Cockermouth side 2-2 with an advantage of a half point in the handicap. Confused? Aren't we all.
October 22nd - Now for Division 2 North. Penrith C end up surprise 3-1 winner's over Penrith B.
October 15th - Ding...ding round two! Another set of Division one games were due to be held on October 15th with Penrith on the never ending journey down to play Barrow A. It was well worth the trip with another 3.5-0.5 scoreline to show for the travel and travail. All of which sees Penrith A get off to a flying start to the season with a total of seven points from a possible 8.
October 1st and 15th - Other results in from Division 1 include Cokermouth and SASRA taking joint honours in a 2-2 draw and Carlisle A beating Carlisle B by a hefty 3-1.
October 1st - And they're off... well kind of, bar a cancelled match here or there. The first games in Division 1 were held yeaterday October 1st in the unseasonal heat of our very own indian summer. Penrith A definitely stole all the ice cubes in their first match against last year's surprise package, Carlisle B. Mind you, we've definitely done the 'started well finished badly thing' before and one swallow doesn't make a nest. Still, winning by a convincing 3.5-0.5 scoreline can't be all bad. There's mud in your beak!
