![]() Please visit my website www.macgrieve.com Mac Grieve started painting as a young boy of 9 – 10 in his home town of Nipawin, Saskatchewan. This was a result of the long, cold Saskatchewan winters and an old box of oil paints his mother had lying around. He stopped painting in 1967 with a move to B.C. and involvement in other interests. In 2005, he once again picked up his brushes, but quickly discovered that his style was more suited to acrylics than oils, so he made the switch and now paints exclusively with acrylics. He is self taught, having taken only a few classes with some prominent local artists, who had a great influence on his work. His work has been seen in several galleries and art shows in the South Surrey/White Rock area and a one- man show at the Community Arts Council Gallery in 2007 proved very successful, prompting him to open his in-home studio and gallery. Most days will find Mac painting in the studio, out photographing reference material or looking for the next painting location. His work is heavily oriented to impressionistic landscapes, although he also enjoys painting florals and the occasional portrait.
