The Lee Family

....adding clutter to cyberspace since 2003

10 October 2010

Finally, another update!  We just returned from a trip to France, where we spent a few days in Bayeux, which is in Normandy.  We toured some of the D-Day beaches and spent a few hours climbing the many stairs of Mont St.-Michel.  Then it was down to Paris, where we had fun in Parisian playgrounds, and spent many Euros on carousel rides and macarons.  Photos are here

In other news, Jacob is now 3, and started preschool in September.  He likes preschool and his teachers and new friends.

24 March 2010

Would you believe it if I said that we had some technical difficulties?  Well, it's partially true, but mostly I have just been lazy.   Lots has happened since the last entry.  Christmas, New Year, Lake Tahoe for lots of fun in the snow (Jake loved tubing and making snowballs).  We continue to have fun at home, too, and laughing at the things that Jake says.

6 November 2009

We returned to London in late September.  This time, Jake brought along his grandparents and showed them around the city.  We also had a chance to a little bit of England outside London, and returned to Iceland.  It was Jake's and the grandparents' first time to Iceland.

22 August 2009

Earlier this month, we spent time in Maui, Hawaii. It was Jacob's first time to Hawaii. A lot of other family members also came, making it a big family vacation. There was a lot of pool and beach time, sightseeing, and Jake even went swimming in the ocean near Molokini. Pictures are here.

31 May 2009

Our little Jacob is now 2 years old (on the 21st)! We celebrated with a train ride and dinner at the Fullerton downtown market, then a little cake at home.  We also had a Thomas the Tank Engine ice cream cake at a BBQ with some friends and family on the weekend.  Then it was off to Las Vegas!  We spent most of our time at the Mandalay Bay pools and lazy river.  Jacob liked the waves and the water falls the best.

23 April 2009

We spent a weekend in San Diego, motly visiting Sea World.  Jacob's favorite animals were the beluga whales (he says "way-o") and the penguins ("goon-gun").  He likes Elmo very much, so was very happy to ride "Elmo's Flying Fish" 4 times.  Pictures are here.  Videos may be forthcoming.

4 April 2009

We are still here.  Jacob and Peggy are currently sick, but so far, nothing serious.  We uploaded a video of him watching the Bellagio fountains.  Click here to see it.  It is 3 minutes long - sorry. There's a new update on the Jacob page.

1 March 2009

We spent a few days in Las Vegas.  It was Jacob's first time visiting the city.

25 February 2009

It's been pretty quiet here at Casa Lee.  We are glad that A-Ma and "Ack" are back in CA, although Jacob still likes to talk to them on Skype.  He is always very eager and excited to talk to them on the computer, but then once he sees them on the screen, he keeps busy doing other things like scattering stationery, binder clips, or pushing the keys on the keyboard.  I guess he just likes knowing that they are there.  Here are a few new pictures taken by his Uncle Steve.  Jacob is 1.75 year old now.

16 January 2009

We finally uploaded pictures from the Christmas and New Year's holidays.  Also uploaded are some pictures from our bedroom remodel, which is 98% complete.

4 January 2009

Happy New Year!!!  We hope that 2009 has been a good one for you so far, and that it will get better and better.  We ushered in the New Year by going to Fullerton's First Night celebration.  Jacob rode a train, and had his first taste of hot chocolate, which he declared as a very good thing.  A couple of days later, we went to the LA Zoo.  Jacob's favorite animals were the flamingoes and the giraffes.  He also liked the sleeping bear.  We'll put up pictures soon.

18 December 2008

A Christmas letter for the 6 of you who look at this website!  We took Jacob to see Santa Claus this year.  He did about the same as last year - he wasn't crazy about sitting on Santa's lap.  He liked the carousel ride after, though.

15 December 2008

A Jacob video!

1 December 2008

We celebrated Thanksgiving with family and friends: Steven & Angela, and Tim, Eveline & Ethan.  Everyone brought a lot of goodies and was ready to eat turkey.  Photos are here.

3 November 2008

We spent 12 days in the UK.  First we were in London for 2 days to recuperate from the flight, and to adjust to the time difference.  Then we took a train to York, a very picturesque town with a beautiful minster (church) and reminants of the old city wall from when the Romans lived in the area.  Then it was back to London for a week; we took in the major sights: Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, British Museum, saw the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace, and spent lots of time at Hyde Park.  Jacob like taking the trains on the London Tube and looking at the double-decker buses.  It was very cold.  Here is a slide show of our trip. (Click "Info On" above the picture to see descriptions.)  If that doesn't work, try this link.

17 September 2008

We visited Boston for a week and had a great time in the city itself, and some of the surrounding cities including Cambridge, Marblehead and Rockport.  Sabing was there for the annual AIPPI conference.  Here are some pictures.  More information also on the Jacob page.

8 August 2008

Time really flies.  We went on a cruise from Seattle to Alaska earlier this month.  Cruises are definitely a less hectic way to travel with a small child.  Jacob is already becoming a world traveler at his young age.  Check the "Jacob" page for more details.

16 July 2008

It's been a month since the last update.  Uncle Steve got married (welcome to the family, Auntie Angela!), and Jacob got to meet a lot of his aunts and uncles and cousins who came to attend the wedding.

Other than that, we have just been hanging out at the house, resting before our upcoming trips over the next few months.  Jacob watched fireworks on 4th of July (which he liked, even though it was past his bedtime), went swimming (also liked very much), and is becoming better at communicating with us about his likes and dislikes.  Yes, links to new Jacob pictures are on the Jacob page.

21 May 2008

Can you believe it?  Our little Jacob is ONE! See Jacob's page for pictures of him making a big mess.

30 April 2008

We went to Taiwan to visit Jacob's grandparents and other relatives.  He did very well on the long, long flights and was loved by his extended family. Pictures available - see Jacob's page.

1 April 2008

Happy Birthday, Grandma!  Jake went on his first Lee Annual Ski Trip.

21 March 2008

A few new pics of Jake in the collection.  He is 10 months old!

8 March 2008

As you can see, we finally redesigned the website.  Hopefully all the links and pages look OK and work properly.   Obviously, this is a work in progress.

Have fun, and thanks for visiting.
