Lester B. Pearson School for the Arts opened in September of 1989. This year, 2009, marks 20 years of students attending this enriched arts program. We are ready for a celebration! Friday May 29th  to  Sunday May 31st is our Reunion Weekend. On this website you will find all the information necessary to come back and celebrate with us.

Questions 
Who is the 20th Anniversary Celebration for?
  • All students, parents, and teachers who have been a part of Pearson during its time as a School for the Arts are encouraged to join us on this weekend.

What will it cost?

  • Each event will be individually ticketed and the price has been set to cover only the costs of putting on the event. You may choose to come to any or all events. Prices are listed in brackets after the description of each event.

How do I get tickets?

  • Print out the attached Ticket Purchase Form at the bottom of this page and send your cheque into the school along with a stamped, self-addressed envelope.

  • Tickets will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
  • Payments must accompany the Ticket Purchase Form in order to be processed.

Reunion Weekend - Events 

Friday May 29th, 2009 
  • 7:00pm - Wine & Cheese Reception. This event is for for current and former staff members, parents, and alumni who are 19 years of age and over. It is being held at the Elsie Perrin Williams Estate. (Cost - $15.00 per person - Limit 120 people) MAP

  • 7:00pm - Final Night of the Grade 8 original show, "Hidden". (It seems we have Pirates wandering the halls of Pearson this year!) Although this is not technically part of the reunion weekend, we wanted to let you know this is happening at the school. The final performance of this year's original grade 8 show, which is open to the public, will be at the school on Friday, May 29th, 2009. Performances are running from Tuesday, May 26th to Friday, May 29th prior to the Reunion Weekend. All shows are at 7:00pm. (Cost $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for students - tickets at the door.)
Saturday May 30th, 2009
  • 10:00am to 2:00pm - Open House at Pearson. Come and see the displays in the studios, look through the archives in each classroom for each of the twenty years of the school, and tour our pirate ship set for the grade 8 original show. (No Cost)
  • 2:00pm - Special Performance of the Grade 8 Original Show, "Hidden". We've never done this before, but this one performance will feature the best performers from each of the four casts on stage together! (Cost - $15.00 per ticket, Limit 200 seats. 120 seats for graduates and 80 seats for the parents of students in the show.)
  • 5:00pm -  Family BBQ Night at East Park Golf Gardens. A family night with live music and special guest alumni speakers . You will have a chance to meet some of our graduates and find out how Pearson affected their lives. You are welcome to arrive anytime after 5:00pm. Food will be served (including vegetarian options) starting  at 6:00pm and we will hear from some of our graduates starting  about 7:00pm. (Cost - $15.00 per person. This includes your meal and a drink. There will also be a cash bar for those of age. - Limit 500 people) MAP
Sunday May 31st, 2009
  • 2:00pm - Gala Concert in the Banting Secondary School Auditorium. This concert will feature performances of both current students and Pearson alumni. Do you remember "Sharing Assemblies"? Well, here is a Grand Sharing Assembly that you will not want to miss. Alpha to Omega - Grade 4 to Professionals! (Cost $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for students. Limit 750 seats)  MAP
