The Belize Department of the Environment (DOE) also approved a 100 unit condominum development (now known as Villas at Coco Plum) and a 48 suite boutique hotel on approximately 13 acres of land. The boutique hotel will include plunge and swimming pools, fitness center, two tennis courts, a spa, four treatment rooms, sports facility 200 foot pier, parking area and beach palapa. The developer also intends to seek DOE approval for a marina within the Placencia Lagoon canal system. DOE approval for the Coco Plum development was granted on 28 November 2005.
