NOTICE TO ALL STUDENTS: The homework policy will apply throughout the third quarter. Homework is valued at 100% on the day it is due, 60% on day 2, 20% on day 3 and 0% thereafter. This policy will applied to ALL students throughout the semester. A student who fails to do their homework CAN fail the class as homework is assigned almost every night.
ENGLISH 8 - We continue to read The Coalwood Way in class.
Coalwood folders/binders will be checked and graded for completeness after Chapter 21and will be collected on Wednesday April 30.
US HISTORY - It has become apparent that the students are not reading the assignments when completing their homework. If done correctly they read the section and then look for the answers to the qiestions assigned for homework so that they remember not only the terms or facts but ALSO the context in which they are being used. This is resulting in low scores on the section quizzes which have been provided as a means to raise NOT lower your student's grade.
DUE to all of the days out of school we will be picking up the pace in US History in order to get to 1900 before the year ends. Some workbook activities will be done in class to allow us to go at a faster pace. this means that the tests will be occurring more frequently.
