Artist Statement & History

   My name is Erin Kelly. I am an artist from Boston, MA and owner of Pawsome Paintings. I earned my BA in Art & Art History from UMass Boston in 2005. Over the years, I received several awards for my art and have had my artwork published in several books and magazines. My artwork has sold to clients across the United States, Canada, and even Australia.

  My artistic style is most akin to pop art or contemporary art... but I like to think of my paintings as "pup-art"!

  As our first "baby", Sadie was the inspiration behind  Pawsome Paintings. Sadie makes for one patient (and adorable) model...

Most importantly, she works for treats !!!

  Pawsome Paintings was born of my love of pets and the desire to share my art with the general public... It all began when googling Pet portrait sites: I wanted a painting of Sadie for my own home. I soon became frustrated with the affordability of other sites on the web and so decided to paint Sadie's portrait for myself. It came out so great, and the process was so fun, that I began painting pet portraits for friends and co-workers. When those became a big hit, I knew I was onto something truly special...

...and that was how Pawsome Paintings was born!

  When you commission a "Paw - trait" from me, rest assured that I will be availible for consultation and advice whenever you need me. I will   e-mail you for approval every step of the way; from the initial composite images I create in Paint Shop Pro, throughout the various stages of the painting process, and all the way through to completion to ensure that the final product is as you wish. I will NOT ship your pet portrait until you are 100% satisfied!

  As I mentioned, using Paint Shop Pro, I can combine several individual images of pets into one cohesive painting! You can bring all your fur-children together, past or present!
