| 'Short Stories' - This time Vinod Joseph has come up with a series of short stories! I would love to see them as a collection and what we're up to here? Another Saki? Read them yourself and judge. They are true to life, contemporary and really short ones. ---------------------------------------------- 'Hitchhiker' - My friend Vinod George Joseph's first literary creation. A must read for the youth of India. Foreword by noted writer and journalist Anita Pratap. This is book is published in India by 'The Books for Change'. ISBN #: ----------------------------------------------------- The book is published in India by Pranatha Books, Cochin, Kerala. Reflections: When I was a college student, I never believed that I could appreciate art and poetry, not the least in English! I studied them but not enjoyed them fully. Though I remember most of the poems I learned in schools and college, I never had a crush for them, saving only a few. But time changed my perspective and brought me friends like Sandeep who simply showed me that these are beautiful manifestations of our own simple lives depicted masterfully with ample words and ideas. There are many beautiful poems in his small book, but here is a poem which enthused me: Level Cross: Those tomcats with glowing eyes Waiting to leap across the path After the python has crawled over Their prey is on the other side. Those cats have mighty uncles Who rule the highway jungles The python wll soon move away Glowing eyes continue to wait. page 19 - Shear Echoes of Time Reproduced here with the prior consent of the author! |
