Pat Taylor is unique as a dancer and teacher.
Her training in ballet, jazz and modern dance form the classical underpinning of her success in Raks Sharki (Middle Eastern Dance). For more than two decades, she has studied with, and been hailed by, such major figures as Ibrahim "Bobby" Farrah, Suhaila Salimpour, Elena Lentini of New York, Roman "Bert" Balladine, Shireem el-Saafy, Sah'ra Sa'eeda, Vashti of Dallas and Angelika Nemeth. Her teachers include legendary Egyptians Farida Fahmi, Mahmoud Reda, Mona el Sa'id, Dina and Nagwa Fouad, as well as Dr. Mo Geddawi, and her dear friends Beata and Horacio Cifuentes of Berlin.
She teaches Middle Eastern Dance, founded on the many dances of the cultures of the Middle East.
Pat Taylor teaches Egyptian Modern Cairo style fused with her studies in ballet, ethnic dance and jazz.
All movements in pure Cairo style originate from the core muscles of the torso; reaching and strengthening those muscles is easy, fun and effective using her Access to the Core training.
Her students learn the rhythms, lyrics, and the appropriate movements and costuming for the music they are studying. In addition, they are introduced to the performances of the great stars of Middle Eastern Dance, many of whom are personal friends of their teacher.

Bellydance Classes: $150/10 class (50 minute class) class card; $50 per month for one class (50 minutes) per week (no makeups for student absence) Beginner/Intermediate: M, W 6:30-7:30 PM Sunday Afternoon Schedule to be announced (see below) New! Choreography Class: The Hagallah, choreographed by Mahmoud Reda. Starting July 11-August 16, 2008: TAB (either Saturday or Sunday 1-3 PM). Class size limited to 7 people. Includes choreography, folklore, costuming. Level: Must be Intermediate Egyptian Style to take the class, with permission of the Instructor. $120 for the series, payable in advance. Performance of the choreography will be scheduled.
