If you are reading these lines, you are probably interested in surfing our couch. We would like to point out some down-to-earth information that will ensure we all can enjoy your stay in our home.

Couch request
  • Some people feel uneasy filling the standard CS request form. but don't shy out: when it's filled properly, it gives almost all information need to make sure that we can host you when you wish. If you'd rather fill in the general message form (why not?) and make it more personal, please make sure you mention all information asked in the couch request form, namely when you plan on arriving and leaving, how you are traveling, where you'll be coming from and going to and how long you intend to stay.
  • If you sent several couch request and then choose to stay with someone else (which is OK with us), please let us know as soon as possible. So we'd appreciate it if you confirmed your stay after you received a positive reply from us.
  • You will be welcome for a couple of nights; our house isn't so big, and Reims is usually just a stopover for travelers; few stay for more than 2 days. Please ask for couch at least 4 or 5 days in advance so we can make arrangements.
  • We have bedsheets and blankets; bringing your own linen and/or sleeping bags may help . You will be invited to share our meals, so please mention any issue related to food: what you don't eat, what you are allergic to, etc.
  • As far as pets are concerned, we do have a cat, so think about it if you are allergic. Your own cat or dog is welcome provided he/she accepts our cat's presence.
About your stay
  • Of course, you don't have to spend all your time with us. In any case, we all have activities and we may not be available to spend a whole day with you. But we'll try as much as possible to help you hava a pleasant stay by all means. In some cases (mostly on weekdays), you should plan to be out of home from 8 am to 5:30 pm.
  • You will be welcome to share our time, our meals in the evening and on weekends, but this is not required if you feel like eating out and have fun elsewhere. There's no problem with it except that if you plan on going downtown, have fun and go to bed late, we suggest you find a couch in the city center; many very friendly couchsurfers live there; please check the Reims CS group, many of them are members. Remember we live on the outskirts of the city and it takes 20-25 minutes by bus to get to downtown or back. Buses run until around midnight only.
  • If you are traveling with kids, we may extend the 2-person limit. We have other convertibles, they can host kids up to 16 or 17. The house will look more like a camping site, but it can be a lot of fun. Our garden is also fit for a tent if needed.
  • You will be welcome to use our internet access. If you bring your own laptop, wifi is also available. Free phone calls to 70 countries and territories, including cell phones to US & Canada might be helpful, too.
  • We usually get up fairly early, even on weekends. So, if you like to sleep late, we suggest, for your own comfort, that you find a host whose schedule fits better than ours. There are over 130 couchsurfers in town, so you should find easily .
  • You may smoke in the garden, even though we'd prefer you do not smoke at all. Of course, no drugs at all and no alcohol beyond reasonable limits.
