A Little Bit About Us

"Us" being our splendid chapter

Women in Aviation® is not an organization just for women! WIA is an organization for SLU students, faculty, and staff that have an interest in Aviation and support women being an active part of the industry. By no means of the imagination is it a requirement that you must be female or a pilot. Our members are pilots, engineers, flight instructors, students, and staff. If you don't feel like you could fit in any of those categories, either, that's alright!  If this sounds like a good organization for you, then it probably is!  We welcome any new members!  Just stop by a meeting to meet some of us and get caught up on our current activities.

Check our calendar page to find out the day for our next meeting.

Our dues are $20.00 per year (or $10 per semester) and can be paid in cash or check (made out to "Women in Aviation"). If you would like to get email updates about meetings and events, just email parkswia@gmail.com with a request.  We will gladly add you to the mailing list!  Our members are also encouraged to join Women in Aviation International®. An application can be downloaded or completed online at www.wai.org. The dues are $29.00 annually for students. Members receive many benefits including the opportunity to attend the annual conference and apply for WAI® scholarships. Being a WAI member also looks great on a resume!  For more information on the benefits of International membership, visit their website at www.wai.org.

    Our "big" Activity:

  •  Women in Aviation, International® Conference - Conference 2012 will be in Dallas, TX in March!

The conference is a great opportunity for everyone. Many aviation organizations attend as exhibitors giving students the chance to hand in a resume for an internship, or simply to meet new people and network. We fundraise all year to make conference more affordable for our members. We will pay help pay for any member to go to conference as long as they are an active member in good-standing. We also require that all members who wish to attend conference apply for at least one WAI scholarship - it's just too good of an opportunity to pass up!
