Morning Gory, 7AM to 10AM – 50 Mind Shattering Lashes before morning tea - 24 September 2008
This sick morning opened with the usual ‘leader’ screaming trainers over the neighbourhood, by opening the Parafield’s Flight Training Adelaide sorties, full bore, as loud as possible. That noise intrusion was estimated to exceed 95decibels, most flight noise this day would exceed 80-90 decibels as they climb and turn. About a dozen overflights were missed before recording could commence. The volunteer ceased at recording 10AM, sickened by noise and had to leave the family residence, located in a once quiet area ~4 KM from Parafield’s main runway. There was hardly any breeze - when there is, the aircraft noise is much worse.
V0924012 offers an acknowledgment buzz to the recorder. V0924017 records a large low flying Airbus passenger jet directly flying over a circuit training path; one can hardly pick the jet. V0924033 & 34 are identical aircraft, on identical path/height/speed/conditions, seconds apart, yet the leader has to pitch up the propellers imposing more noise over homes. V0924044 & 45 came overhead for a closer gawk at the recorder, who was nearing wits end. Swimming pools are effectively useless around here because of this perverted rot. One never knows when the racket starts or stops, unless it’s stormy. The pollution continues throughout the day till well into the night. The following morning (25Sep08), they started at 7:10AM. This happens almost every fine day, happening for years, thanks to Governments deliberately not measuring and effectively ignoring the true extent of profiteering reckless aviation pollution over residential areas.
The previous evening flight training did not cease till 1045PM. If it takes one an hour to get to proper sleep, then one has less than 8 hours before woken by flight training noise again. Spring, Autumn & Summer, 20-26000 aircraft movements per month, virtually all Flight Training Adelaide, (owned by foreigners for foreigners), training over vast, ‘Australian working family’, residential areas – Governments know and do nothing – Shameful and disgusting, and they reckon this is democracy.
