I wonder if
GALWAY KINNELL
Knew at 1971, when he published
His poetry book:
“The Book of Nightmares”,
That writing the phrase:
“…God is my enemy”
Would cause it to be
Banned from the bookshelf
In a coffee place
Hoboken 2006
And turn the book itself
Into a theological refuge.
I wonder if
It was a legitimate
Nightmare?
Or maybe it is turning
Into one?
