Want to help save lives? Want to possibly earn a $50 Trader Joe's gift
card? Want to help show how Palo Verde residents are better than Verano
Place?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, please participate in
our first ever PV vs. VP blood drive (February 27th - March 2nd). All
donations can be made on campus in the NEW CAMPUS DONOR CENTER, located in
the student center, downstairs near the Graduate Resource Center (GRC).
One $25 Trader Joe's gift card will be raffled to a donor from each
community, with a $50 gift card raffled to a donor from the community that
donated the most blood (which will be Palo Verde if we all pitch in!). The
whole process only takes about 45 minutes, but make sure to reserve your
appointment before Verano residents take all the best slots!

Palo Verde Residents’ Council invites you to:
A hike in Bommer Canyon! Sunday, May 15th at 10am
Explore the wilds of Irvine with your neighbors!
This will be a moderate intensity, 4-mile hike lasting approximately 1.5 hours. Bring water and sun protection.
The hike leaves at 10am from the newest Trailhead at Bommer Canyon: 1 Bommer Canyon, Irvine, CA 92657.
The parking lot holds about 10 cars max (additional parking is available at Turtle Rock Nature Center across the street a little bit and at Turtle Rock Community Park). Some of us may meet up earlier to jog over to the trailhead (~2 mi.).
Parking at the Bommer Canyon Trailhead is limited to only about 10 spots, so we will try to arrange (or at least encourage) carpooling or walking to the trailhead. The actual trailhead is located just south of UC, Irvine. From campus, Anteater Drive crosses Culver Dr/Bonita Canyon Dr, and becomes Shady Canyon. Just about a mile or so down the road will be the trailhead. Here is a map for directions: http://www.ci.irvine.ca.us/civica/filebank/blobdload.asp?BlobID=14466 Please RSVP to pvrc@uci.edu with the number of people in your party.
P.S. If you know a nature guide who could possibly lead us, please let us know! |
