Students in the PALCS Service-Learning group have been learning about the AIDS pandemic in South Africa, and have decided to participate in West
Chester University's Aid to South Africa- an event that benefits both those who attend the event by providing them with unique, hands-on educational
experiences and also two charitable organizations in South Africa that serve food to approximately 6,500 people per day and take in children who are
                    HIV-positive, respectively.

The PALCS team will consist of teachers and students who would like to make a difference by donating to this cause.  Throughout the six-hour time
period, at least one member of the team will be walking around the indoor track at any given time, to show support for those in South Africa who battle for
each and every day.  Students and families who attend will have the opportunity to walk through a replica shack, which is home to approximately 11
people in South Africa; write cards to send to students in South African schools; listen to live musical performances and watch magic shows; participate in
raffles and carnival games and rides; learn about South Africa by looking through photo albums or watching short films put together by West Chester
University students who have been to South Africa and seen the devastation first hand.
