Paper Mario is a freakin' good game. It's less of an RPG than SMRPG, because there's much more to do on the overworld, you don't gain special attacks simply by leveling up, and only 2 party members fight at once.

Mario receives a letter from Peach inviting him to her castle for a party. When Mario gets there, he walks up to Peach's personal chambers to talk. Peach notes how lovely the day is and the pair head for the balcony. But just then, the ground begins shaking...
