 Monument Park - West is ride #5 originally published in the book “PAGOSA RIDES; Mountain Biking in and around Pagosa Springs” by Gary Hopkins.
Using a primitive road and a multi-purpose trail, this route travels through a rich and textured montane forest. Wildflowers and lush, geen meadows are abundant in the summer, while aspen color predominates in the fall. The multi-layered forest canopy also includes a diverse variety of shrubs. The riding surface is divided almost equally between unmaintained forest road and a multi-use trail that is wide enough for an ATV. Roots , rocks and a few steep pitches provide some technical challenges along the way.
