Our Clergy


Fr. Gary Zender - Pastor     Fr. Gary was born in Bellingham, WA and is the eldest of six children and the proud uncle of 14 and great uncle of 3.  He grew up in Deming, WA in a large extended logging family (54 first cousins)  He logged for his Dad while going through college and has the scars to prove it!  He was the last graduate from St. Edward High School Seminary and then from there attended Mt. Angel Seminary in Oregon and St. Meinrad in Indiana.  He has served as a priest of the Seattle Archdiocese for over 23 years and has been pastor of St. Anthony for the last 10 of those years. 

Father says his favorite part of being a priest is hearing from people how life in the community of the Church and the sacraments changes their lives.  
 
When he is not serving the people of St. Anthony or making sure that Fr. Duc is doing his job right, you can find him biking, hiking, skiing or visiting family and friends. He keeps a very small garden and is proud to be eating tomatoes, carrots and Brussels sprouts that he he grew even into early 2010!
