The Last Pack Meeting for 08-09

Tuesday, May 12th 6:30 PM ET, if dry the meeting will take place outside in the lawn by the Carson building.  If it is wet it will take place in Laburnum Commons.  This will be our end of year bridging ceremony moving the cubs up in rank and a celebration of Steven Catlett earning the Arrow of Light the highest award in Cub Scouting.  If anybody can show up early to help setup tables and chairs it would be greatly appreciated.

Raingutter Regatta

Coming Saturday June 13th, the Raingutter Regatta.  This is a fun day in the sun with boys, little boats and a raingutter.  The boys blow on the little boats to make them go.  The cost is $5 for the boat kit and patch.   The pack will provide popcicles and water.

Adult Leader Recruiting

Our pack is as only as great as the kids and adult leaders who make it go.   Next year we have some leadership openings to be filled.  The more positions we can fill this Spring the better prepared our Pack will be in the fall.   Please read the list below and contact Bill, Ed or myself if you have any questions.

1.  Pack Treasurer - Ed Showalter who has been our treasurer for the last two years needs to step down this summer.    Treasurer duties include budget drafting, Pack account reconciliation.

2.  Bear Den Leader (3rd Grade Boys) - Planning and running Bear Den meetings and activities.  We have plenty of resources available to make this as easy as possible.

3.  Popcorn Kernel - aka Fundraising Chair - Filled thank you Julie

4.  Recruiting Chair - Filled thank you Deanna

I do believe next year will be even better and with your help it can.

Battlefield District Cubmobile Races

This event has been postponed.  More information when available from the district.

The theme this year is "Exploring The Unknown". The daily themes will be centered around Exploring Space, Exploring the Deep, Exploring the Ancient Past, Exploring Our Past and Exploring Our Future. FUN activities, games and crafts will be offered each evening to capture the Cubs and Webelos attention and curiosity.

Please note: The Chaperone and Staff Training session will be held on June 13, 2009 from 9:00 am - 12 noon. Remember each Pack must have one Chaperone per four Cubs or Webelos. (volunteers needed)  All Chaperones that attend training will receive a free t-shirt and water bottle.

Summer Camp
Summer Camp is fast approaching.  In order to get a good choice of rooms and save a little money we would like to get our reservation into council by May 1st.   The Summer Camp sessions are open for any Cub Scout rising 2nd graders - rising 5th graders.   Most of the camp attendees are boys going into 3rd, 4th or 5th grades.   Attached is a parents guide, please look it over and don't be afraid to ask Bill or myself questions.   We are looking at attending session 7.

Thank you,
