Dear Scouts, Scouters and Parents; After tonight's Pack meeting, thank you Julie and Deana for volunteering to be our Popcorn Kernel and Recruiting Chairperson, I went to the Boy Scout meeting and learned about a Youth Service Project from the Battlefield District Commissioner, Don Piacentini. Hanover County has requested to Scouts in the county to drop off a bag a food or more at your school for the Spring Harvest for the Central Virginia Food Bank. The food will be collected early next week. To meet the deadline please drop off your food at Rural Point or your nearest school, if your son does not attend public school, by Monday morning. Please write Pack 555 at the top of the bag. Also if you choose to participate, please send me your son's name to me so the service hours can be logged with the district. Please encourage your son to do this, the last couple of years have been very harsh to a lot of people and the demand for food at the food bank has increased dramatically. Ask your sons to reach out to family, friends and close neighbors to see if they wish to contribute. I do apologize for the last minute notice. Please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you, Tom Slicker |
