Pack Life's Mission

Pack Life is an organization that is dedicated to ensuring that No Dog is Left Behind. What that means is that no dog is ever mistreated or euthanized because of people induced behavior, age, overpopulation, or for any other reason. We work with non-profit animal welfare groups, as well as local and distant communities, to better the lives of stray, abandoned, and abused dogs. We participate in and conduct events to help with fundraising, volunteering, and education, to ultimately demolish the catastrophic crisis surrounding “unwanted” dogs.

One Year Anniversary Party
And party we did! Our one year anniversary party was a great day to look back at all that we have accomplished together over the past year. With your help, we have raised over $7000, and aided the rescue of over 30 dogs! Plus we were at multiple events throughout the year talking with people about the importance of adopting our furry friends, and spay/neuter initiavtives. None of this would be possible without your support, and we had a wonderful day of celebration at the Kennel Shop! To top it all off, Hannah was ADOPTED into her forever home! Many people we interested, but Huxley is still waiting for just the right person to adopt him! It was a day filled with fun, surprises, and PUPPIES!!!

April Stools Day
April Stools Day was a great success, thanks to the many volunteers and sponsors who supported us! We couldn't have done it without you!
Thanks to all of YOU, we raised over $450 for the Pack Life spay/neuter fund. This will help to make our community safer and more humane for everyone!
Volunteers joined to clean Witham Spring Rd., Great Falls Park, Pettengill Park, in Auburn and in Lewiston. We definitely got our point across about cleaning up after your dog, and had a great time doing it!

Kennel Shop Valentine's Day Party
Lots of loving pups came out to see us at the Kennel Shop in Lewiston for our first annual Valentine's Day party! Together, we were able to raise over $100 for our spay/neuter fund! Thank you! We raffled off lots of great prizes, and sent many people home with great gifts! Thank you to the Kennel Shop staff for their exquisite baking skills! They put on a bake sale with all proceeds going to Pack Life! There were also lots of sweet (but healthy!) homemade treats for all of our canine friends, and no one went home empty handed! Thank you for a great time to everyone who participated!!

GAHS Strutt Your Mutt Walk
Despite the cold rainy weather, many brave people gathered at Railroad Park in Lewiston on October 3rd for the 13th annual Greater Androscoggin Humane Society Strutt Your Mutt Walk.  Participants embarked on a walk across the Lewiston/Auburn border, and down Main St. with their soggy dogs to celebrate the local shelter. Over $7,000 was raised by the walkers, which will directly benefit the shelter. Dogs and their owner’s were also encouraged to enter in one of the many dog-related contests, including ‘Bobbing for Burgers’, Best Trick, Least Obedient, and more. Prizes were awarded to all winners.  Pack Life also had a successful day talking with the attendees about adoption, spaying/neutering options, and other initiatives we can take to create a more humane community. We also continued the promotion of our ‘Adopt a Best Friend’ program, and successfully raised funds for our ‘Pack the Rental Car for Best Friends’ fundraiser going on now!

Pack Life also held a drawing for which they also raised money that will be donated. The winner of the two drawing for the one-year membership to Best Friends Animal Society with bi-monthly magazine and the basket filled with homemade doggie treats from Gertie’s Doggie Bakery in Freeport was Kayla from Waterford.  Congratulations and thank you to all those who participated!

Paws for a Cause

Coastal Humane Society's Annual Dog Walk

Pack Life spent a windy Sunday with the dogs of Coastal Maine at the Coastal Humane Society Annual Paws for a Cause walk. It was a fun and successful event for all that began with a walk around the Topsham Fairgrounds track. Cassie made the way around the track with Sherwood & Ace while Chris manned the Pack Life booth, talking to local citizens about our new Adopt a Best Friend program, as well as our upcoming trip to Las Vegas to attend the No More Homeless Pets Conference. There was a demonstration by the Bath K9 Unit, and fun games for the dog participants. There was also a large yard sale to help raise funds for the Coastal Humane Society.

Woofstock 09

Woofstock '09 Huge Success!

Pack Life had an awesome weekend representing our pack at Woofstock 09' in Damariscotta! We unveiled one of our new humane education programs, Adopt a Best Friend, and it was received by everyone with open arms. We were also successful with talking and educating the community about Best Friends Animal Society, spay/neuter options, adoption information, and more! Plus, we raised over $100 for non-profit dog rescues! The Woofstock event raised a record amount of money for the shelters and dog rescues in attendance.

Congratulations to Denise of Bath, who won our drawing for a one year membership to Best Friends! Denise's membership includes a bi-monthly Best Friends Magazine and exclusive member offers!
