Cub Scouting is the program by the Boy Scouts of America developed specially for boys entering the first through fifth grades. The aims of the program are to help boys build character, learn about good citizenship, and develop personal fitness through fun activities. Boys who go through the scouting program develop leadership skills through community service and by giving goodwill toward others. They learn to be confident in times of emergency and crisis. Each scout grows through practical life skills which help them become productive adults in their communities. Over the years, scouts have continued on to become well-known US presidents, astronauts, professional athletes, actors, journalists, and philanthropists among other occupations all which contribute positively to the world we live in. Read how scouting builds character.
