Pack 157 Den 7 Tiger Cubs Glenshaw, PA

Tiger Cubs is an exciting introduction to the scouting program for first grade boys (or 7 years old) excited to get going!   Tiger Cubs do stuff - lots of stuff - with their adult partners. This program is intended to open up the world to inquisitive minds along with the caring guidance of adults. The first steps along the Boy Scout Trail are laid here and every rank advancement through the scouting program builds on the basic categories of activity done as tigers.

The Tiger Cub program runs on two levels. The scout and his adult partner meet weekly to do activities centered around the family. Then, the scout and adult partner meet with the rest of the tiger den to fulfill Den Activity and Go See It requirements.

Tiger Cub Scout Uniform

The uniform is an important part of the Scouting program, especially for the youngest boys just starting their boy scout trail. It identifies the boys and adults with Tiger Cubs and gives them a sense of belonging to the den, the pack, and the Boy Scouts of America. Scouts enjoy wearing their Tiger Cub uniform. They should wear it to all den meetings, pack meetings, and special pack activities.

The current uniform for the Tiger Cub, introduced in August 2004, is the official blue Cub Scout shirt with blue/orange neckerchief and neckerchief slide. This replaces the Tiger Cub orange T-shirt with the Tiger Cub emblem on the front. The official Tiger Cub cap and blue web belt with a Tiger Cub buckle are optional. There are also blue socks with orange band to complete the uniform. Adult partners don't have to wear a uniform, but it is highly recommended that they wear a Tiger Cub orange T- shirt or sweatshirt.

The Uniform Inspection Sheet has insignia placement guides.

The uniform shown here is known as the Field Uniform. The Activity Uniform is a Scouting-related T-Shirt and scout pants. These two uniforms (Field and Activity) are often referred to as Class A and Class B uniforms, but that is not correct BSA terminology.

Cub Scout Packs can design their own Activity shirt. The most well-known place to design and purchase Pack t-shirts is the http://www.classb.com/ web site. They are an official licensee of the Boy Scouts of America run by Eagle Scouts and have a great reputation of service and quality products since 1982.

This book is for Tiger Cubs and their adult partners. It tells about the Tiger Cub program; gives information about dens, leaders, uniforms, and advancement; and includes ideas for planning a den program. After that are the advancement activities—achievements and electives. Finally, there are sections on Cub Scouting's Leave No Trace Awareness Award, the Cub Scout Academics and Sports program, the BSA Family program, and the Bobcat requirements and moving into a Wolf Cub Scout den.
