BLUE & GOLD BANQUET 2-7-2009

Location: Oviedo Presp Church on February 7 is reserved from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Event will take place from 4:00-6:00 pm.

Boy Scouts were arranged by Sherry Simkins to setup. (Need to include the boys in the meal count & VIP's that RSVP'ed).

Clean Up: Will pay for Jason Young's Cleaning Service in Oviedo. He will clean the kitchen, bathrooms and sweep & mop the hall (where the event will be held and other areas if needed). The cost will be $40.00 and we will pay him directly. Sherry Simkins arranged for the cleaner.
 
Larry Breen will bring checks to the banquet to pay Woody's BBQ, Jason Young and the Magician.

Denice Breen collected retired pinewood derby cars to display at the banquet. Scouts can bring cars to the banquet for display.

Attire: Scouts wear full uniform and adults dress business casual.

Entertainment: Magic Show by Maureen - Sherry Simkins reserved. Cost $50.00 with the bunny.

Denice Breen purchased the disposable tablecloths, cake plates, forks. (Will submit receipts for reimbursement). 
 
Jodi Woodson is preparing Den table assignment cards for each table.
 
Jodi Woodson is purchasing and engraving Scout coins for the Herberts. (Please submit the receipts for reimbursement).
 
Jodi Woodson's den is preparing the Gathering activity. (Please submit any receipts for reimbursement).

Denice Breen is ordering the cakes from Costco at $16.99 a piece. 2 cakes 1 white cake with buttercream frosting and strawberry filling and 1 chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and chocolate filling. YUM! The decoration will be an American Flag.

Denice Breen wrote and revised the B&G program and it is ready to print. No charge - all printing done at the Breen's office.

Sherry Simkins sent email reminder to leaders for dens to RSVP for the banquet.

*Still need to obtain the meal count from the pack website and submit the meal order to Woody's BBQ.

Denice Breen has volunteered to pickup the cakes from Costco on the banquet day.

Caterer: Woody's BBQ with paid servers. Scouts and parents will not serve food.

Kids Menu - macaroni and cheese, hamburgers, steamed hot dogs. $4.50 per child

Adults Menu- chicken, pulled pork, beef. 2 sides: mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, BBQ sauces, paper goods included, ice tea, lemonade (come in jugs with ice). $7.99 per adult. Chaffing dishes and sterno ($30.00 delivery charge) plus server fees.

Invitations were made and printed by Denice Breen. The parents will RSVP on the pack website. Den leaders are encouraged to promote the banquet event to their dens. Head count is important to be certain that the food ordered will be served to each person attending (no wasted food).

Invitations were mailed to the VIP's. No charge for postage - mailed at the Breen's office.
 
Photographer: Sherry Simkins has reserved a photographer. Denice Breen will be taking pictures of the dens. The pictures will be made available on the pack website.

Friends of Scouting: Denice Breen contacted Little Econ and was placed on their schedule.
