Elkus Ranch

The Elkus Ranch Overnight is an opportunity for members and their families to learn more about 4H. There are many fun activities planned every year such as hiking, games, a scavenger hunt, and a campfire. It is an opportunity to get to know your fellow 4H'ers and their families better. It is also an opportunity to learn more about the animals that live at the ranch, as we are responsible for their care and feeding during our stay. In the past we have tried to time our event with the arrival of the new lambs and goat kids.

We like this to be a "Family Event". Members age 9 and under must come with an adult family member or arrange for another family to "adopt them for the weekend."

Elkus Ranch

Elkus Youth Ranch is a 600 acre working sheep ranch just south of Half Moon Bay. They also have chickens, goats, rabbits, and a burro. Lots of hands on opportunities for all ages. To help offset the cost we are asked to do some chores around the ranch. There is also a great hiking trail and a fire ring for campfire activities.
