Poultry (Pastured)

The pastured poultry project is a group project. It is great for busy kids who want to do an animal project. In the pastured poultry project the birds live in a moveable pen. They eat the bugs and worms and fertilize the ground. We will collect eggs and sell them to fund our project. Kids will learn basic bird care, handling and business management topics. There is a focus on sustainable farming. The group will also participate in the planning and construction of the new structure for the chickens. Meetings are held at the farm on the fourth Sunday of the month at 4:00 p.m. year round. Poultry farmers can choose a shift or two on our care schedule and learn how to raise chickens.
