Stepping foot on the Tian'anmen Square was quite an unbelievable experience not only for me but also for the rest of our travel group. One thing I can say is that the place is really huge! No wonder it is the largest square in the world in the sense that it can accomodate thousands of people. Lucky thing i t was not that crowded when we were touring around.

could, and I was one of those who took
bunch of pictures. The square is
surrounded by tall and humungus
structures such as the Chinese
P a r l i a m e n t a r y B u i l d i n g. Mao Zedong's portrait is pretty visible at the Tian'anmen Square leading to the Forbidden City. The picture shows a gigantic structure that used to be one of the Forbidden City's gates.
The place was crowded with both tourists and local residents. In fact, I was surprised to see that the place was overall clean and not smoggy as I had expected. People everywhere were enjoying themselves and were also busy taking pictures, not showing any sign of awareness about the history behind the Tian'anmen Square--the event that will always remind us of the Chinese public's voice for democracy.
