Learning foreign languages has always been a huge passion of mine and Chinese Mandarin is no
exception at all. At first, learning the language was
a challenge for me. But as soon as I became familiar with its grammar and worked on my pronunciation and tone---everyone's favorite---I started to love the unique beauty of this language, which is quite different from that of French or other European languages.
To me, learning the language of certain nations opens the door of a better understanding about their culture. Indeed, that was my essential tool of knowing and appreciating more about the rich culture of China.
It was a memorable experience to have been able to study Chinese in Beijing.
These experiences gave me the opportunity to take a glympse of the daily lifestyle of a normal Chinese student. I got to meet really nice people especially our friendly Chinese teachers as well as students---whether it be in the cafeteria or in the hallway. I
was really impressed by my Chinese teachers' great hospitality and enthusiasm. For the Chinese
students, it was quite remarkable to see how
welcoming they were to us all.
One experience I'll never forget was when these three young Chinese students helped me find the computer room in the best way they could.
