Even more remote than the FERG groups from isolated townships are the various mine Emergency Rescue Teams. These amazing groups have extensive skills in all manner of firefighting and emergency care, as well as vertical, underground and on-ground rescue. Hopefully coming soon (all fingers crossed) will be some Energy Resources Australia (ERA) shoulder patches from their various mine Emergency Rescue Teams.

This Mine Rescue patch is from Olympic Dam in South Australia. Located 560 kilometres north of Adelaide, Olympic Dam is a multi-mineral ore body. It is the world's fourth largest remaining copper deposit, fifth largest gold deposit and the largest uranium deposit. It also contains significant quantities of silver. |
