Design & Photography: The Footlong Freedom
Welcome to the Google Page for Oxygen Designs. This page is run, and somewhat maintained, by Dave 'Cecil' Jurgensen - a mostly crazy individual that has a wierd attraction to all things German, and a unnatural fear of Babies crying at night in a large storm that he can not see.... Tuesday, 21 October 2008 Erm, so my last entry was on the 16th of July... 3 Months ago.. Crazy. There is a fairly good reason though.. I swear! So, since the last time you guys heard from me, there has been a huge change in my life. Something that has sparked in my a new outlook on life, and become very much apart of my day-to-day living. What am I on about? I'm on about Parkour. Search it on the ol' YouTube if you don't know about it. I've been doing Parkour now since the 3rd of August - just over 11 weeks. I now call myself a Traceur. I train between 6-7 nights a week, doing a min of 2 hours each day, and doing as much as 9 hours on others. I have come far in the few weeks I've been a Traceur. I've made some great new friends all around the country. And become very involved in the Parkour community. I've been gaining so many things from this. Friends. Fitness. An unbelievable sense of Freedom. Overcoming personal Fears. And learning how to become much more Focused in my everyday living. I also has something Fun to look forward to, and have something that just makes me Forget the worries of this world. I'll tell ya'll more about it another time. I'll be uploading some pictures/wallpapers that are related to Parkour that I've done. I will also be uploading some clips at the end of the year from our first National Parkour Meet down in Hamilton. If anyone is interested in Parkour, hit me up with an email - I'd love to share more with you. Cecil (cecil.oxygenpost@gmail.com)
Wednesday, 16 July 2008 Could not find my wallet today... So frustrating... Today? Did graphics; work on web site; hunted for my wallet; spent ages working on a 'secret project' (will tell you next week what); got my business cards delivered today; got a vodem; got my wallet back finally. Somehow, I left the wallet at Images & Sound (Post house on Grafton for those of you that don't know), and I got a phone call telling me as much. Now, the confusing thing is I only had my driver's license in there - Nothing else. How in the name of Big Bird did they get my mobile number?! Off to Christchurch tomorrow for the day. Going to have to get up at 0600hrs, which I'm not looking forward to.... Mainly because I'm typing this entry at 0214hrs..... grr. Will be lots of fun though. Recabling for a new position for our OB van (previously we were working out of a room under the stands. Was kinda' nice there because it meant we had a real quick rig/de-rig. But most of the gear isn't ours, which means some could randomly go missing suddenly, and on game day is when we would first find out.... big problems). FUN TIMES!! Cecil (cecil.oxygenpost@gmail.com)
Tuesday, 15 July 2008 - Evening Let's get right to it. Nick locked his keys in his car.. haha.. So we started our Dominic session with me taking him home and back to fetch his spare key. Other than that, we had a good round tonight. We didn't finish it, but got pretty close. We got distracted with trying a few new tricks which involved me redrawing digitally some of the storyboard cells. I won't tell you more, I'll get leave it up to your whack minds. In other news, finished the website design for UPL (my salary job). Just need to add the content now, and it'll be live. Fairly simple design, semi inspired by the limitations of this Google Page. ie, If I had the ability to code this page how I wanted it to be, it would look like the design I have done for UPL. I'll post the link when it is live. I'm going to go play with some photos now.. Luff yoo lung tyem Cecil (cecil.oxygenpost@gmail.com)
Tuesday, 15 July 2008 - Morning Hey Ladies. How are we today? The King came over again last night for a few move hours work on 'Dominic'. It's starting to really look good - if I don't say so myself. The beauty of working with a director you get on well with, and understand. It's rather stupid actually. Not Dominic. How well we get each other. The only time we actually talk is when we are throwing friendly insults back and forth. Seldom do we actually talk about the work we are doing because we just know what the other wants/is doing. Anyway, enough crap from me. I have another round of King tonight after work. With a little luck we'll be finished everything visual, and just need to do the voice over/audio. Right On! Peace, Cecil (cecil.oxygenpost@gmail.com) Monday, 14 July 2008 Shout out to my one or two readers. Why are you bothering reading this? Surely there is something more interesting out there to be doing than reading the ramblings of an insane creative? If not, well hey, glad to have you here with me. ^__^ So, events of late. Hit the editing bench yesterday with Nick King (my friend, and director). Had a good session in After Effects working on the animated Storyboard for our short film, 'Dominic'. Manage to finish the rough cut, and get a good cleanup well underway. When I have something I can show, I'll upload a peek here for you guys. Later guys! Sunday, 13 July 2008 Well, I have decided to give this a go. I hate maintaining webpages, but it is Google related..... so... At this point I'm not too sure where this page will end up. But for now, I'm going to just throw random crap that comes to mind up here. And hey, I'll throw photos I've taken up here as well - they are at least a safe bet. | Photo of the Day: Sarah Smith |
