If you help children to rig boats, assist with sail training,
operate or crew the rescue boats or perform other tasks where you
interact with children you might need a blue card. To see if you do
you should carefully read "About the blue card" at the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian.
The brochure Blue cards for volunteer parents explains when parents do or do not require a blue card. If you are uncertain you should apply for a card. Use forms available through the Commission's Forms and instructions page. What is a blue card?A blue card is issued by the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian. The Commission conducts the Working with Children Check to determine whether a person is eligible for a blue card. If a person is considered eligible they are issued with a positive notice letter and a blue card.
