Today I saw Jesus
no, not from afar
he stood nearer than close
in fact, right where you are...
A miracle did he
as he made me brand new;
yes, right here in front of me,
he was standing in you!
Tears for Jesus
by Mr. Robert M., O.P.
It's said she lived a sinful life
until that given day
when she heard about Jesus
and His loving way.
And soon it came to be
that Jesus she did meet
her tears and silken hair
she used to wash his feet.
Mary Magdalene repented
all her sins.
For happiness with Jesus
where true love begins.
She gave up all she had
for love of Our Lord
She gave us all a path
to heaven's reward.
She listened to Him preaching
while Martha did toil.
With love in her heart
she anointed Him with oil.
Filled with tears of sorrow
as prophecy came true
she watched Jesus give His life
to save me and you.
For Jesus so much loved her
with her heart reborn.
He first appeared to her
on that Easter morn.
She told the disciples
the vision she did see.
Now her name's revered
for all eternity.
Mary Magdalene your
beauty's from within.
You're the beacon to show
where a sinner may begin.
You gave up all you had
for love of Our Lord.
You gave us all a path
to heaven's reward.
THINK ABOUT IT

Feast of Mary Magdalene
July 22, 2007
It started.....well, it don't
matter --- it was way back when.
Anyway this is about a special
gal by the name Mary Magdalene
You've probably heard all kinds
of stories from when you were a kid
About the different things that
Mary supposedly did.
So it's difficult to say
what is or isn't true
Well, maybe there was a
minor thing .... or two
Accepting all that Mary did
you may be unaware of one of
the realities
If they're all true, she beat out
Cybil for having multiple
personalities
Yeah, heah, she's a saint
and shouldn't be made fun of,
especially what's unsure about
But what do you think the
seven demons were but
personalities that Jesus cast out
She was a prostitute, sinner,
sister, anointer, throw in a
kitchen sink, foot masseuse
with very long hair
Jesus had to get rid of the
personalities...um...demons
so he'd have a bigger cross
to bear
Back then, she would have been
and was condemned
but today she'd be
exciting and captivating
Back the, they wouldn't dare
say her name, for shame
but today, the writers of the
Enquirer would be salivating
Over time, Mary has surely
gotten a bad rap, a burden
her name carried
It's gone from a Pope adding
his two-cents to Dan Brown
who claims to Christ she
is married
Now don't let your toes curl
or get in a huff or think
your faith will grow a tumor
With all she went through
I'm sure this poem of fun
will just tickle her
sense of humor
And a sense of humor she
must truly have with lots
of laughter and gaiety
Think about it,
she's the patroness and
she still let us
get into the Laity
The Questioning Soul
by Mr. Michael E. K., O.P.
Open spaces and hungry faces,
Master tell me what's the deal?
Enlighten me my Savior, how does it feel?
Sitting here in this crowded field,
What's this power, this love
That bids my yield...
Passions, temptations, repent and
Be healed, cries of suffering of
Hunger and pain, save me Jesus from all that I fear...
Aching, longing, needing graces that
Fill of divine embraces, the heavenly will,
Sitting attentive each in our places,
The glow of the Master fill the eyes
Of all the faithful...
The Kingdom of Heaven is surely at
Hand, following Jesus to the
Promised Land...
