Over a number of years I have come across many family notices - birth, death, engagement and marriage etc and some of these are listed on this page. If you have records of any that I don't have and would like to add them to the list, please send them along via email. If you wish to have them attributed, then please indicate.

Welcome to our genealogy and family history web site. These pages are devoted to family history research which I have been carrying out since 1986. The principal family names and their origins that we are interested are:

  • Thurlow, (and variations) eg Thurley, Thurlough, Thirley, Furlough, Thurlo et al. Our particular families originated in Cambridgeshire, and Huntingtonshire before emigrating to Australia and New Zealand
  • Dewe from Berkshire before emigrating to New Zealand
  • Berthelsen from Denmark with ties to Sweden and Iceland before settling in Queensland
  • Madden from county Galway, Ireland before arriving in New South Wales and spreading to Queensland
  • Lucey from county Cork with connections to Chicago and Brisbane
  • Hanran from county Limerick before arriving in New South Wales and moving into Queensland
  • Storrie from Peebleshire, Scotland before arriving in Queensland
  • McPherson (MacPherson) from Invernesshire, Scotland before emigrating to Queensland.
