Mrs. Mitchell grew up in Sandusky, a tiny community in the "thumb" of Michigan.  As an adult she lived in Columbus, Mississippi for four years and then in Las Vegas, Nevada for two years before moving back home to Michigan.  She earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from the Mississippi University for Women in 1989 and a master's degree in School Counseling from Western Michigan University in 1997.  She has experience teaching 3rd grade and 5th grade.  Mrs. Mitchell began her career as an elementary school counselor in 1997.  She absolutely loves her job!  The children at school make her smile and learn something new every day.   Mrs. Mitchell loves being a school counselor because she can help students learn how to deal with the stressful things that happen in life and also teach them the skills they need to be successful in their personal interactions with others. 
 
In addition to her certification as a school counselor in the state of Michigan, Mrs. Mitchell is also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC).  To view her professional disclosure statement, click here.
 
Mrs. Mitchell's family includes her husband, Paul, and her two sons, Ryan and Adam.  She also has two cats, Cricket and Pepper.  When she is not at work, Mrs. Mitchell loves to read, bake goodies, work in her flower gardens, and attend sporting events with her family.
